I just read a blog post by George Couros. Remember, he was mentioned in our Elementary Principal’s Institute on the second day with Rachel Thompson. He talks about how to focus when there is so much innovation out there to use. It was a good read for me as a new principal and helped me to see that too much choice can be detrimental, but focus with the freedom to branch out to help that focus is great. Basically, use innovation to improve your focus. I have attached a link to this article. What have many of you done to use innovative ideas without loosing focus? How do you implement meaningful ideas without overwhelming teachers and just skimming the surface?
